Obituary of James Bernard Greene

James Bernard 'J.B.' Greene, age 86, of Hidden Valley Circle, Boone, passed away Monday morning, May 15, 2023 at his home. Born May 31, 1936 in Watauga County, he was a son of Milton Waitsel and Velma Carroll Greene. J. B. was a long time member of Perkinsville Baptist Church and owned and operated J.B. Greene Heating and Air Conditioning for the past 60 years. After love of family, J.B. enjoyed showing his walking horses in competition and the companionship of his many dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Frankie Jones Greene; son, Scott Greene of Boone; grandsons, Chad Kerley and wife, Lisa, of Morganton and Adam Randall and wife, Paige, of Carmel By the Sea, California and great grandson, Kane Randall of Jefferson; brother, George Greene and his wife, Marie; sister-in-laws, Pat Greene and her husband, Larry and Sandy Jones; and special family member, Clay Jones. As well as 22 nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two dogs, Sugar and Honey.

James is preceded in death by his daughter, Tanya Randall and her husband Mike; brother, MW Greene and his wife, Anna; sisters, Lois Watson and her husband James, Ruby Clawson, Reba Hamby and her husband, Earl; father-in-law, Raymond Jones and mother-in-law, Louise Jones; sister-in-laws, Remona Hardie, Rebecca Holloway and her husband, Jim; brother-in-laws, Bill Jones and his wife Carolyn, Roland Jones.

A private family celebration of life service to honor J. B. will be held at a later date.
