Dearest Adam,
From birth you have given me and our family so much happiness. You were always a bright and shining star. You helped with the other children, you helped me cook (and became quite good). Interactions with others were always sincere, compassionate, and loving. You had a way of turning a sad situation into something more positive. You worked for me twice once prior to becoming so very ill and once afterward. You were the same in presence and approach both times. I think my patients came to see you more than me at times. You were a real people person and had the ability to make those who were sick, even those less sick than you, feel more comfortable.
We will all miss you, Paul, your brothers and I. We loved having you back home after you last hospital stay. You were happy and content, cooking again, and enjoying freedom until the really horrible pain started. It was in a peaceful way that you left us.... and you will have no more horrible pain... My love forever, Mom

My sweet Adam, you were always one of the brightest memories during my years in dialysis in Boone. The times we laughed and joked and just cut up because we could. You were like my honorary son since you went to school with both my kids. Your smile was beautiful and so were you and just the thought of you being gone from this world just breaks my heart. I know you have escaped to a far better place, but we will forever be carrying you in our hearts and in our minds. Godspeed my friend, we loved you dearly.

Lynn, I am so sorry for your loss. I have three memories I would like to share. The first time I met Adam was our boys first day of kindergarten together. I think all children are beautiful but some are a little more, Adam was one of those. He was always happy and always had a smile for everyone. My second memory was when I was working in home health at a patients home in Meat Camp. When I arrived at her home she was very sick. I called 911, and within a couple minutes Adam was there. Even though he was fighting his own illness, he was there to help her through hers. I could see he loved his work helping others. My third memory is when his grandfather Lank Craig passed away. Adam was so upset and crying. You know God tells us in His Holy Word that He will wipe away all tears. I am sure God has wiped Adam's tears away, because Adam is now with his grandfather Lank.

Where does One begin to describe a Beautiful Soul? I’m devastated by Our Loss, yet So Relieved For Him to be Free from All Pain. Adam my Dear Friend, You are my Daily Inspiration to be a Better Person. I know without a doubt, Jesus placed You in His arms and is Showing You the Sights of Heaven.

Adam, I am going to miss you so much. I am so glad you came into my life as a youth mentor. This summer would have been 10 years that we had known eachother and always stayed in touch throughout the years. For that, I am so thankful. I love you so much and now you are able to reunite with your dad in Heaven. I’m sure you and my momma are up there talking about how much of a brat I am :), much love to all of your brothers and your sweet momma.

What an honor to know you well, Adam. Our first meeting was when you were a student at Watauga and I was your SRO. It didn't go as planned. But I always respected you held no grudge, and it led to you being a great person and friend. I greatly enjoyed when our paths crossed later in life. We would talk for extended periods of time, each and every time. I was always remarked that even when illness should have dampened your spirits, you always presented yourself optimistically and with that smile you always wore. I hope and pray in your memory, people always remember that sly grin you kept on your face. You'll be missed.

Lynn and Sons, There are just no words to express our deep sorrow for your loss. Mom always said you raised wonderful boys and Adam was the leader . He was the sweetest, kind, loving, and generous soul. We know he is at peace now and no longer has to suffer, but does not ease the grief and loss you and the boys are feeling. Please know that you are in our prayers. Even as you mourn his loss Lynn, be proud of the wonderful man you raised. Much love to all, Frankie and Amy.

Our thoughts and prayers for the Lewis family. Remember when Adam joined Blowing Rock Fire Dept and shortly after here come Sterling. As Fire and Rescue Adam cared about everyone which is why he was so good at it. A heart bigger than he was. Sickness may have taken his life but it can't take the memories. RIP brother.

Lynn, Paul, Sterling, Ethan and Wesley, Danielle and Adalynn, my memories of Adam are ALL of such an amazing, loving, helpful and respectful man. Having moved to the beautiful Appalachian mountains from Hawaii and needing so much help and assistance to settle in, well enter Adam and Sterling who assissted with a snowy driveway and all 4 boys taught me the nuances of 4 Season chores. Adam on the ladder removing leaves after the Fall and taking me home after an incredible Thanksgiving dinner prepared by his extraordinary Mother. Way too many memories to begin to write about and all of an amazing, brave man who valiantly fought his health fight .A hui hou (until we meet again) dear Adam

Adam was one of my boys. I had the honor of being his Scout Master. I watched a boy grow into a very special individual. He loved the outdoors and had amazing leadership qualities that he shared with the younger Scouts. Adam always had a kind word for others and enjoyed helping others at all times. He truly lived by the Scout Oath and Law. Lynn, I am so proud to have been given the opportunity to be a small part in the lives of Adam and Sterling. They were so special to me and will always carry wonderful memories of our times together. LYNN, THANKS FOR BEING SUCH A WONDERFUL MOM FOR ALL YOUR CHILDERN. My prayers will be with you.
