I remember when Ted and Shirley were married. Every time you saw them they always looked the same; talking quietly and sharing a smile, it was their way. They would go off together with their fishing poles down the creek in front of their house with no cares in the world. Shirley was always so polite and loving and stronger than most people knew. They would come to visit Granny Miller’s on Sunday like the rest of us. Shirley would sit with the women in the kitchen and listen to to the “news” of the community. Every now and then she would share a little gossip. Granny would comment to us how much she enjoyed seeing Shirley. Now Aunt Shirley has gone home to rest, but we shall see her again, with peace and love ❤️

This was a picture of when I was younger when granny and poohpooh came to Virginia just to watch me and abby’s dance recital. These little moments meant and still mean the world to us and we will never ever forget them.
