Obituary of Wendy H. Green

Wendy Estelle Harris Green, age 43, of Boone, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 19, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Born in Stanley County January 17, 1974, she was the daughter of Kathy Welch Reece and Bennie Harris. Wendy was a graduate of Appalachian State University. She owned and operated Wendy Green Allstate Insurance and enjoyed working in real estate. Wendy enjoyed swimming, bicycling, and was especially fond of animals. She is survived by her mother, Kathy Reece and husband Jimmy of Zionville, her father, Benny Harris and wife Lisa of Albemarle, one step daughter, Lindsey Watson and Matt Glass of Kingsport, two daughters, Grace Watson and Sarah Beth Green of Boone, one brother, Ben Harris and wife Sue of Zionville, one half-sister, Chelsea Harris, two half-brothers, Adam Harris and Brandon Harris, her maternal grandmother, Arlene Welch of Rock Hill, SC, one aunt, Pam Poag and husband Richard of Rock Hill, SC, three uncles Mark Harris and wife Mirandy of Albemarle, Steve Harris and wife Pam of Albemarle, and George Karnazes of Charleston, SC, one niece, Cora Harris, three nephews, Benjamin, Casey and John Harris, two step grandchildren, Presley and Porter Glass, her step grandmother, Frances Welch of Rock Hill, SC and a number of cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bedford and Jearline Harris, her maternal grandfather, G. C. Welch and one aunt, Gwenda Karnazes. Funeral services for Wendy Green will be conducted Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 2 PM at the Boone United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Vern Collins and Rev. Dwayne Tester. Burial will follow in the Zionville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service at Boone United Methodist Church from noon until 2 o�clock.
