Obituary of Maurice B. Marcum

Mr. Maurice Benton Marcum, age 81, of Perkins Street, Boone, passed away Friday morning, October 20, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. Born May 9, 1936 in Ewing, Virginia, he was a son of the late Henry Benton and Bonnie Ayers Marcum. Maurice was a member of Alliance Bible Fellowship and a US Army Veteran. He was a clinical social worker for 41 years and had worked for New River Behavioral Healthcare. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Londeree Marcum, three children; Carol Isaacs and husband Jim of Boone, Joy Marcum of Winston-Salem and Charles Marcum of Deep Gap, two grandchildren, Laine Isaacs of Bristol, VA, Ben Isaacs of Ronda, NC one step granddaughter, Brianna Shepherd of Elizabethtown, NC, two great grandchildren, Ariah and Levi Isaacs, two step great grandchildren Andrew and Kara Shepherd, and one brother, Harold Marcum and wife Helen of Jonesville, VA. Funeral services for Mr. Maurice Marcum will be conducted Monday, October 23rd at 2 PM at Alliance Bible Fellowship. Officiating will be Pastor Scott Andrews. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Alliance Bible Fellowship Building Fund, 1035 NC Hwy 105 Bypass, Boone, NC 28607.
