Charles �Ralph� Davis, age 70, of Mountain Dale Rd., Vilas, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Watauga Medical Center. Born June 10, 1946, he was a son of Hugh and Elizabeth Phillips Davis. Mr. Davis retired from Lowe�s Home Improvement after 28 years of service and spent the last 21 years in the rental property business with his wife, Nancy. Ralph was a long-time faithful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a loving husband and daddy, friend, neighbor and helper to all. Ralph is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Mixon Davis; daughters, Jan Davis Scott and husband, David, of Vilas and LeAnne Davis Reese and husband Jeff, and grandson, Jacob Davis Reese, all of Purlear; and brother, Larry Davis and wife, Olevia, of Vilas. Also surviving is an aunt, Betty Stout of Vilas; brothers, and sisters-in-law, Clark and Nancy Mixon of Mountain City, TN and Jim and Dannette Mixon of Vilas; nephews, Garrett Mixon and wife, Meghan and their two children, all of Zionville, and Justin and Nathan Mixon of Fuquay-Varina; and a number of cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Martha, Carl, Joe Lee, Mary Ellen and infants, Lane and Blaine; and nephews, Mark and Jamie Pennell.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 11th, at 2 PM at Beaver Dam Baptist Church of Vilas, officiated by Rev. Keith Brown and Rev. Michael Greene. Burial will follow in the upper Beaver Dam Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 PM at Austin & Barnes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beaver Dam Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Building Fund (a project very special to Ralph) in care of David Scott, 3476 Mountain Dale Rd., Vilas, NC 28692.
