Dorothy Jean Brown, age 84, of Boone, passed away Wednesday morning, April 26, 2017 at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation. Born July 21, 1932 in Watauga County, Dorothy was a daughter of Thomas Roscoe Brown, Sr. and Lelia Moretz Brown. She was a member of Perkinsville Baptist Church.
Miss Brown is survived by her brother, Roscoe Brown, Jr. and wife, Mary of Raleigh; niece, Elaine Williams of Garner, and nephew, Tim Brown and wife, Debbie of Cary; great niece, Michelle Wheeler and husband, Chris of Benson; great nephew, Josh Waymire of Clayton; and great-great niece, Georgia Wheeler of Benson.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Grady George Brown. Funeral services for Dorothy Brown will be conducted Saturday afternoon, April 27th at 2 oclock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Seth Norris. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1 until 2 oclock, prior to services, at Austin & Barnes.
