Obituary of Clark Howell

Mr. John Clarke Howell, age 73, of Boone, passed away Friday morning at his home. Born April 12, 1940 in Boone, he was a son of the late John Tatum and Irene McDade Howell. Clark was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Boone. He was retired from ASU food services where he was employed for over 27 years. He is survived by his brother, Gene Howell and wife Beulah of Boone. He is also survived by a niece Patricia Watham of Hampton, VA, a Nephew Bryan Howell and wife Janelle of Greensboro, a niece Vickie Smith and husband Chris of Durham and a niece Laura Pekarek and husband Mike of Apex. He is also survived by a number of cousins and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services for John Clark Howell will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o�clock at First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Roy Dobyns. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon prior to the service from 1 o�clock until 2 o�clock at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, �Rise Up� fund, 375 W. King Street, Boone, NC 28607.
