Obituary of Ruby S. Michael

Mrs. Ruby Shull Michael, age 93, of Delmar Street, Boone, died Monday, September l5, 2008 in Vero Beach, Florida. She lived in Vero Beach for the past six years. Mrs. Michael spent the majority of her life in Watauga County. She held a college degree and a Master's Degree from Appalachian State University and taught school for 30 years in Watauga and Caldwell Counties. Mrs. Michael was a member of Three Forks Baptist Church for many years. She loved and followed the teachings of her Lord Jesus Christ and was indeed a servant and inspiration to all who knew her. A willing minister of God has gone home to be with her Savior. Mrs. Michael is survived by; one son, Charles B. Michael and Wife Marcia of Vero Beach, Florida, one daughter, Gwyn M. Costner of Chimney Rock, three sisters, Mary Lee Edmisten and husband Ed of Sebastian, Florida, Nancy Danner of Sylvia and Della Critcher and husband Jim of Boone, two grandchildren, Jennifer Rickell and husband Mark of Nashville, Tennessee and Charles B. Michael, Jr. and wife Amy of Burlingame, California, and four great-grandchildren, Kannon and Kendall Rickell, Charles B. Michael III, and Loren Emerick. She was preceded in death by her husband William Harry Michael, an infant daughter, her parents, Robert and Lena Shull, and two brothers, Robert Shull, Jr. and Rufus Shull. Memorial services and a celebration of her life will be held Saturday morning, October 3rd, at 11 o'clock at Three Forks Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Homer Greene and Rev. David Ricker. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Three Forks Baptist Church Building Fund, 1922 US Highway 421 South, Boone, NC 28607.
