Marion Hale (Bud) Diller III, age 64, of Heritage Drive, Boone, passed away Thursday morning, January 5, 2017 at Watauga Medical Center. Born August 23, 1952 in Kings County, Texas, he was a son of Marion Hale Diller, II and Joyce Chambers Diller. He was a member of the Boone Advent Christian Church. Bud was employed as an auto parts manager by several car dealerships in the Boone area. He was an avid car enthusiast, enjoyed fishing, and loved his animals.
Bud is survived by his wife, Hannah Gregory Diller; son, William Leonard and wife, Heather, and grandchildren, William, Alex and Maleah Leonard, all of Roxboro; father, Marion Diller II of San Diego, CA; step-father, Jerry Hobby of Charlotte; sisters, Susan Craig and husband, Robert of Boone, Jennifer and husband, Nathan, Tonya and husband, Steve and Katrina and husband, Jeremy; niece and nephew, Kimberlyn and Christopher Craig; and one great-niece and three great-nephews.
A celebration of life service will be conducted April 8, 2017, Saturday morning at 11 oclock at the Advent Christian Church, officiated by Pastor Gordon Noble and Rev. Melanie Childers. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 until 11 oclock, one hour prior to services at Advent Christian Church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Watauga County Humane Society, PO Box l835, Boone, NC 28607.
