Obituary of Jesse Boyd Brown

Jesse Boyd Brown age 74, of Hudson, passed away Friday evening, November 11, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born August 7, 1942 in Watauga County, he was a son of John and Gladys Richards Brown. He retired from Municipal Utilities of Hudson. Jesse loved his family. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and a good hike in the mountains. Mr. Brown is survived by his partner of 30 years, Joanne Tilley; daughters, Janie Smart & husband, Maxwell, of Hildebran and Amanda Brown of Longview; step-son, Richard Tilley; two grandchildren, Ashley Kaczynski of Valdese and Corey Smart of Hildebran; two great-grandchildren, Jazmin Story and Noah Kaczynski, both of Valdese; sister, Dorothy Brown of Wilkesboro; and brothers, Eddie Brown and wife, Diane, of Boone, and Smith Brown of Hudson. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Boyd Brown and his parents. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, November 14th, from 1 until 2 o�clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow visitation Monday afternoon, November l4th, at 2:30 at Meat Camp Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Mike Townsend.
