Obituary of Virginia G. Watson

Virginia Greene Watson, age 84, of Deep Gap, died Friday evening, September 5, 2008 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She was born April 12, 1924 in Watauga County to Frank Russell and Cora Carroll Greene. Mrs. Watson was a member of Laurel Springs Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by; her daughter, Caroleen Watson of Deep Gap and one foster Daughter, Taylor Watson of Seattle, Washington; two grandchildren, Mark Laughlin of San Francisco, California and Jessica Laughlin of Seattle, Washington; and two foster great-grandchildren Jessie and Bennie Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Filmore Watson.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Brent Bolick, Rev. Burl Greer and Rev. Jimmy McKinney. Burial will follow in the Laurel Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 8:30 at Austin & Barnes.
