Obituary of Donna J. Winebarger

Donna Jean Winebarger, 73, of Boone, NC, born December 23, 1942, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 after her second battle with cancer. Donna was a native of Gallipolis, Ohio and graduated from North Gallia High School in 1961 and Gallipolis Business College in 1970. She had a passion for cooking and loved to feed her friends and family. She enjoyed cutting grass on her riding lawn mower, riding motorcycles, and lets not forget her witty sense of humor when debating politics. Donna was a dedicated hard worker, and retired from I.R.C. and Appalachian State University.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Victor Winebarger Sr. of Boone, NC and her parents Garrett and Dorothy Sheets of Gallipolis, OH. She is survived by her son, Victor F. Winebarger Jr. and wife Angela of Clover, SC and her daughter, Michelle (Shelley) Huggins and husband Jerry of Boone, NC. Together her children blessed her with four wonderful grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She also has two step children from her late husband, Victor Winebarger Sr., Dorothy Dancy and husband James of Vilas, NC and the late Jerry Winebarger who is survived by his wife Patricia of Boonesmill, VA and together they also have five wonderful grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her two sisters Doris Wilkins and husband Roy of Rio Grande, OH and Patricia Confer and husband Robert of Springfield, OH whom she held very dear to her heart.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 12 p.m. in the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services from 11-12 p.m. in the funeral home.
