Mr. Justin Dempsey Shook, age 32, of Boone, passed away Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016. Born July 7, 1983 in Watauga County, he was a son of Freddie Len and Norma Jean Simmons Shook. Justin was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He enjoyed civil war history, basketball, playing cards and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his parents, Freddie and Norma Jean Shook, one brother, Frederick Shook, all of Boone, three uncles, Jack and Rob Shook and Robert Eugene Bobby Simmons, and one aunt, Diane Shook.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Caroline Shook, his maternal grandparents, Evelyn Caroline and William Simmons, Sr., his paternal grandparents, Dempsey and Mamie Ethel Shook, and two uncles, Richard Shook and William Eddie Simmons, Jr.
Memorial services for Mr. Justin Dempsey Shook will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 oclock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Tim Coffey. The family will receive friends Friday prior to the service from 1 until 2 oclock. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Danner Cemetery, in care of David Hodges, 1075 Laurel Fork Road, Vilas, NC 28692.
