Mrs. Myrtle Francis Cook Dotson, age 87, of Howard Edmisten Road, Sugar Grove, died Thursday morning, August 28, 2008 at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation. Orn November 11, 1920 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Fallah Cook. Mrs. Dotson was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband Robert Dotson, two daughters; Ann Wood of Sugar Grove and Peggy Coffey of Lenoir, one sister-in-law, Maybelle Cook of Sugar Grove, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Harriett Lafone and Marianne Harrison, and two brothers; Tom and Don Cook.
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Dotson will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Ray Greene. Burial will follow in the St. John's Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon prior to the service from 12:30 until 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
