Mr. Gerald David Bare, age 55, of Grandfather Road, Banner Elk, the Foscoe Community, died Wednesday morning at the Davant Extended Care & Rehabilitation in Blowing Rock. Born August 29, 1952 in Avery County, he was a son of the late Robert H. Bare and Wilma Shook Bare. Gerald was a carpenter.
Surviving are his mother; Wilma Shook Bare; four brothers; Donald Bare and wife Catherine, Bob Bare, and Rick Bare all of the Foscoe Community and Steve Bare of Detroit, Michigan, two sisters; Colleen Bare of the Foscoe Community and Marleen Bare of Bellbrook, Ohio. He is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, including; 4 nephews; Rob, Michael, Chris and Shane Bare, and thee special cousins, Sandra Shook, Bob Shook and Kathy Cannon.
There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bare family at 365 Grandfather Road, Banner Elk, NC 28604.
