Ms. Laura Bernice Hawkins Park, age 81, of Milton Brown Heirs Road, Boone, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada September 25, 1926, she was a daughter of the late John and Laura Learning Hawkins. Ms. Park was a homemaker and a waitress.
Surviving are four daughters; Sharon Knowles of Plano, Texas, Kathy Ewing and husband Kenneth of Lynchburg, VA, Linda Park of Beverly Hills, Florida, and Carol Nathan of Boone, two sisters, Myrtle Carson and husband Vern and Genie Miller and husband Jim all of Canada; four brothers; Jack Hawkins, Harold Hawkins, Ralph Hawkins, and Bill Hawkins and wife Anne all of Canada; four grandchildren; Michael Nathan and wife Kari of Boone, Timothy Knowles and wife Kandy of Texas, Jeffrey Knowles and wife Teresa of Texas and Daniel Nathan of Boone, and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth, Francis Ethel and Olive and one brother, Jim Hawkins.
Memorial services for Ms. Laura Bernice Hawkins Park were conducted Sunday August 10, 2008 at 6PM. Officiating was Patrick McLenithan.
Austin & Barnes Funeral Home and Crematory served the Park family.
