Obituary of Margaret Y. Mast

Mrs. Margaret Yates Mast, 93 of Sugar Grove, passed away Friday morning, March 4, 2016 at her daughters home. Born February 16, 1923 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Ethel Matheson Yates. Margaret was a homemaker and a member Willowdale Baptist Church for 76 years. She is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Mast Presnell and husband Howard of Marion, her grandchildren; Eric and Melissa Adams, April Gardin, Kelly and Jason Bass, Angie Wall, several great grandchildren, Brandon Mast, Paige Mast, Andrea, Annette, and Jennifer Gardin, Charlie Adams and wife Tori, Garrett Adams and fianc� Jamie Cosby, Samuel Adams, Rainey, Tanner, and Gabriel Honeycutt, and Austin Bass, and one great-great grandson, William Hunter Mast, two sisters, Phyllis Yates of Vilas and Imogene Blake of Ash, NC, and one brother Fred Yates, Jr., of Vilas, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Jefferson Mast, her son, Robert Hal Mast, one great grandson, William Ronald Mast, Jr, one sister, Leitha Kaiser, four brothers, Olas, Larry, Dexter and Howard Yates. Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Yates Mast will be conducted Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2016 at 3 oclock at Willowdale Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Eugene Braswell. Burial will follow in the Mast Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 oclock until 3 oclock at Willowdale Baptist Church. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Willowdale Baptist Church, 133 Westside Drive, Vilas, NC 28692.
