Obituary of Anna Mae T. Cornell

Anna Mae Taylor Cornell, age 82, of Joe Shoemaker Road, Vilas, passed away Wednesday morning, January 27, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born December 2, 1933 in the Mill Creek community of Ashe County, she was a daughter of George Franklin and Genia Alice Wilcox Taylor. Anna Mae retired after 42 years at TRW. Her hands were always busy tending to family, assembling puzzles, or maintaining her annual flower gardens. Other than family, the love of her life was her little dog, Bailey. Mrs. Cornell is survived by her husband, Joseph Dock Cornell; son, J. Dale Cornell and wife, Penny, of Boone; daughter, Denise Cornell Campbell and husband, John, of Mountain City, TN; step-son, Gary Cornell and wife Patti, of Morganton; grandchildren, Kendra Cornell Jackson and husband, Jason of Boone, Joey Wesley Campbell of Boone�s Creek, TN, Ashlynn Campbell Tester and husband, Dustin, of Mountain City, TN; and step-grandson, Graham Cornell of Morganton; sister, Lena Woodring of Todd; and four brothers, James Taylor, Robert Earl Taylor and wife, Dottie, and C. L. Taylor and wife, Jane, all of Lenoir, and Jerry Taylor of Boone. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Emma Jean Wilson; and her brother, George Thomas Taylor. Graveside services for Anna Mae Taylor Cornell will be conducted Saturday afternoon, January 30, 2016 at 2:30, at the Danner-Cornell Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Delmar James.
