Obituary of Sarah K. Melton

Sarah Kathryn Kitty Jackson Melton, age 71, of Boone, passed away Sunday morning, January 3, 2016. She was a native of Robeson County and the daughter of the late Rowland and Lula Belch Jackson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Sonny Melton, two brothers, Eugene and Joe Jackson, and two sisters, Lois Dennis and Kay Lamb.
She is survived by her son, Terry and his wife Kelly Melton of Valle Crucis. Daughters, Teresa and her husband David Severn of OFallon, Ill., and Melinda and husband Ben Reeves of Boone.
Three granddaughters, Jaclyn and husband Craig Hampton of St. Charles, MO., Alicia and husband Cody Hanna of WI., and Renee and husband Jerome Smith of Richmond, Va. Four grandsons, 1st. Lt. Curtis Glass, U.S.A., and D.J. Severn both of of OFallon, Ill., and Thomas Ray and Joseph Isaiah Reeves of Boone.
One brother, James and wife Janet Jackson of Virginia.
Seven great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Willowdale Baptist Church, Vilas. Burial will follow in Mount Lawn Cemetery, Boone. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. in the church prior to the funeral services.
