Marvin David Trivette, 55, of Andy Hicks Road, Banner Elk, passed away Friday afternoon, October 30, 2015, surrounded by family and friends at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born June 12, 1960 in Avery County, Marvin was a son of Lemmie Frank and Clara Hicks Trivette. He served as a deacon of Clarks Creek Baptist Church. A master craftsman and carpenter, Marvin owned and operated T & M Construction of NC, Inc. since 1989. Many of his clients became close friends and were like family. Marvin loved his family, his church, and above all, the Lord. He cherished spending time with his family and especially being �Pa-Paw to his �little pumpkin� Aubrey. Always trustworthy and dependable, Marvin proudly treated everyone equally and was always ready to drop any project to assist someone in need.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary Accetta Trivette; son, Brandon David Trivette of the home; daughter, Stephanie Trivette Platt and husband, Joshua, granddaughter, Aubrey Ann Platt and baby Platt to arrive in April, all of Sugar Grove; sisters, Janice Coffey and husband, Howard, of Clemmons, and Betty Trivette of Lexington; brothers, Rev. Richard Trivette and wife, Margaret, and Dean Trivette and wife, Pauline, all of Banner Elk, and Roy Trivette and wife, Connie, of Lexington; two aunts, Addie Maynard and Georgia Ward, both of Sugar Grove; and his extended family and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemmie Frank and Clara Hicks Trivette; nephews, Stevie Trivette and Justin Accetta; great nephew, Nathan Bivens and mother-in-law, Ruby Harmon Accetta and father-in-law, Joseph Accetta.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 8, at 2 PM at Clarks Creek Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor David Lunceford, Rev. Richard Trivette, Rev. Mike Townsend and Rev. David Testerman. Graveside services will follow at the Trivette Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 until 7 PM at Austin & Barnes. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Clarks Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, in care of Rachel Townsend, 2840 Clarks Creek Road, Banner Elk, NC 28604.
