Obituary of Ann Collins Taylor

Ann Collins Taylor, age 74, of Wild Acres Road, Banner Elk, the Foscoe community, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at her home. Born July 31, 1941 in Carter County, TN, she was a daughter of Charles and Hettie Cretsinger Collins. Church and family was her passion. Ann loved baking and cooking for family, friends, and community events. For more than 50 years, Mrs. Taylor was a youth leader and taught Sunday school at Foscoe Christian Church. She dearly loved making quilts and blankets to donate to Project Linus. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband of 59 years, Denver Taylor; son, Dean Taylor and wife, Darlene, of Banner Elk; daughter, Michelle Rupard and husband, Paul, of Boone; six grandchildren, Deanna Friley and husband, Kevin, of Charlotte, Erika Higgins and husband, Rory, of Stokesdale; Jordan Trivette of Boone, Tyler Taylor of Banner Elk, Jacqueline Brooke Trivette of Boone, and Jarrett Pritchard of Burnsville; sister, Charlsie Lyle of Johnson City, TN; and brother, Orlin Collins of Gray, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Taylor; and brother, Bob Collins. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, October 3, at 2 oclock, at Foscoe Christian Church on Church Hollow Road, officiated by Pastor Dan Burks and Pastor Ken Caswell. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12:30 until 2 oclock, prior to services, at the church. Graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Foscoe Christian Church Youth Fund, 8834 NC Highway 105 South, Boone, NC 28607.
