Obituary of Elaine Endres

Please share a memory of Elaine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Family Edition: Elaine Endres, of Todd, North Carolina, died Saturday, September 19th, at her home after an extended illness, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 15, 1926, Elaine was raised in Collingswood, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Harold and Holly (Garrison) Robson and the widow of Richard O. Endres. Friends here in Todd have said of her, Elaine Endres is the most Southern Yankee we have ever met! Elaines legacy is her family: her daughter Holly (Jason) Drake of Todd, and son Richard H. (Kate) Endres of Alexandria, VA. Additionally, five grandchildren: Jonathan, Jordan and Justin Drake and Kendall and Meredith Endres, and two great grandchildren, Nora and Olivia Drake. She was predeceased by her eldest grandson, Brian Drake. Besides her daughters Holly and Kate, there were countless women in the High Country who she treasured as her adopted daughters and who called her Mom or Grandmom. Elaines passions were her family, friends and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She lived a vivacious, others-centered life, overflowing the love of God on all who knew her and had the privilege of meeting her. Have you ever been prayed for by Elaine? She would observe people and sense they had a need, introducing herself as a prayer warrior and offer to pray for them. If you have been blessed by her faith and prayers, please share your story with us by emailing hollydrake56@gmail.com. Elaine will be dearly missed! The Reverend David Cooper will officiate at a memorial celebration service of Elaines life at her beloved church, South Fork Baptist, on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in the name of Elaine Endres to her favorite ministry, McClean Ministries, at P.O. BOX 2088, Hickory, NC 28603 or at www.McleanMinistries.org. Austin & Barnes Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Endres family.
