Obituary of Helen Jean R. Senter

Mrs. Helen Jean Robinson Senter, age 81, of Morganton and a native of Watauga County, died Tuesday, July 15th at her home. Born November 11, 1926, in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late George Washington Robinson and Hattie Cindrilla Wilson Robinson. Mrs. Senter was a member of the Morganton First Baptist Deaf Missions and was an active member of the Red Hat Society for the Deaf, the National Fraternity for the Deaf and the Table Rock AARP. She is survived by three sons, Ricky Senter and wife Candi and Russell Senter and wife, Beverly all of Morganton and Jerry Shockley and wife Cathy of Fairview; one sister, Georgia Lewis of Asheville, and one brother Edward Robinson and wife Ruth of Charlotte. Five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her husband, Robert Eugene Senter, she was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington Robinson and Hattie Cindrilla Wilson Robinson; four sisters, Hazel Watson, Grace Eggers, Chloe Hathcock and Barbara Ann Wallace and by two brothers, Kent and Blaine Robinson. Funeral services for Helen Jean Robinson Senter will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, July 18, 2008 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton with the Reverend Tom Lineburger officiating. Interment will follow at the Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Morganton First Baptist Church Deaf Mission. Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton, is serving the Senter Family.
