Obituary of Harold Dean Pardue

Harold Dean Pardue, age 76, of Mabel School Road, Zionville, passed away Wednesday evening, August 19, 2015 at Davant Rehab & Extended Care Facility in Blowing Rock. Harold Dean was born March 19, 1939 in Watauga County. He was a member of Mabel Baptist Church. After retiring from Winkler Plumbing and Heating, he continued to work as a self-employed carpenter, cabinet maker and plumber. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting Lionel train sets, and fishing.
Mr. Pardue is survived by two daughters, Deana Lipford and husband, Coy, of Zionville and Beth Berry and husband, Jeff, of Boone; three grandsons, Kevin Roark of Deep Gap, and Matthew Rash and Ethan Lipford, both of Zionville; and two brothers, Burl Pardue of Zionville and Ernest Pardue of Boone. One niece and two nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Pardue and his grandparents, Sam and Emma Pardue.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, August 23, 2015 at 2:30 at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. J. C. Greene. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1 until 2:30, prior to services, at Austin & Barnes. Graveside services and burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
