Obituary of William J. Presnell

Mr. William Johnny Presnell, age 89, of McGrady and a former resident of Zionville, passed away Tuesday morning at Watauga Medical Center. Born June 25, 1926 in Watauga County, he was a son of the late Valentine and Bertha Ward Presnell. Mr. Presnell was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He is survived by five children; Lois Evans and husband Ed of Boone, Janet Snyder and husband Michael of Gray, Tennessee, Maxie Presnell of York, South Carolina, Mark Presnell and Donna of McGrady, and Carla Presnell and Tacci of Ohio, twelve grandchildren; April Greene, Stephanie Kennedy, Candice Cook, Caleb Cook, Melanie Porter, Josh Canter, Emily Jones, Kristin Canter, Megan Presnell, Matthew Presnell, Miranda Presnell, and Izzy Smith sixteen great grandchildren, and one sister, Ann Presnell Wilson of Lexington, NC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Isaacs Presnell. Memorial services for Mr. William Johnny Presnell will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 4 oclock at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Bud Russell. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3 until 4 oclock at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Watauga Hunger and Health Coalition, 141 Health Center Drive, Suite C, Boone, NC 28607.
