Mr. Orrie E. Dotson, age 85, of West Jefferson, passed away Tuesday, August 04, 2015 at Margate Health & Rehabilitation. Born March 6, 1930 in Lisben, Ohio, he was a son of the late Orrie and Clara Rupp Dotson. Orrie was a US Army Veteran, who served during the Korean War. He was a member of Bald Mountain Baptist Church and was retired from General Motors. Orrie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed talking with children, working with his hands, and repairing watches and jewelry.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Loretta Spears Dotson, three daughters; Diana Davis, Marsha Bunting, and Lisa Thomas, five grandchildren; Delayne Davis, Carlyene Zinkiewicz, Ben Thomas, Brittany Winters, and Aaron Bunting, one great grandson, Lucias Zinkiewicz, and one sister, Clara Dotson.
Memorial services for Mr. Orrie Dotson will be conducted Friday evening, August 7 at the Bald Mountain Baptist Church at 7 oclock. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6 until 7 oclock.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bald Mountain Baptist Church Childrens Department, 1453 Bald Mountain Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
