Obituary of Eula H. Carpenter

Mrs. Eula Hughes Wilson Carpenter, age 91, of Newland, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ in Linville, the D.A.V. Avery County Chapter 87, Auxiliary, and the Eastern Star of Kingsport. She was a beautician for fifty years and brought great joy to her patrons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Straley and Virgie Blackburn Hughes, and eleven brothers and sisters. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, C.W. Wilson and second husband Harland Carpenter.
She left to cherish her memory are her four daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Jimmy Linkous of Speedwell, Va., Sandy and Richard Brickey of Kingsport, Tn., Diana and Buddy Brown of Newland, and Lisa and Rick Smith of Elk Park.
Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service in Hughes Cemetery on Saturday June 27, 2015 at 1 p.m.
