Obituary of Barry Wayne Starnes

Barry Wayne Starnes, 65, of Castle Ford Road, Boone, passed away Sunday morning, June 21, 2015 at his home. Born February 27, 1950 in Watauga County, he was a son of Woodrow and Lillie Walls Starnes. He was a manufacturing manager at TRW. Wayne�s inspiration was the love for his family, and his church family at South Fork Baptist Church. His passion was his grandchildren and pitching for the Meco Electric Soft Ball Team. He enjoyed farming, deer hunting, and riding his motorcycle. Wayne is survived by his wife, Teresa Reece Starnes; daughters, Chasity Proffit and husband, T.J., Nicole Garwood and husband, Will, Tiffany Carter and husband, David, and Chelsey Stout and husband, Brandon, all of Boone; six grandchildren, Thomas and Gracie Proffit, Chloe and Linley Garwood, Jaylie Carter, and Weston Starnes; sisters, Tanis Trivette, Kathy Cook and husband, Jim, and twin, Pam Palmer and husband, Ralph, all of Boone; and sisters-in-law, Becky Todd and Sherry Price and husband, Will, all of Boone. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Isaacs. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 23, at 11 AM, at South Fork Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Allen Marsh and Rev. David Cooper. Graveside services will follow at the Bethelview United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 o�clock, at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
