Obituary of Mary Frances H. Fraley

Mary Frances Harmon Fraley, 87, of Laurel Fork Road, Vilas, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 14, 2015. Born Nov. 17, 1927 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of Marshall E. and Northa Hollars Harmon. Mary Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. Her life was filled with the love of the Lord, her family and friends. She was a longtime member of Brushy Fork Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening, bowling, golf, travel, working in flowers, but mostly spending time with her family. She is survived by daughters, Diane Sherwood and husband, Joe, of Vilas, and Judy Fairchild and husband, David, of Fleetwood; son, Michael Fraley and wife, Debi, of Winter Garden, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Alison Moretz (James) of Zionville, Mary Greene (Michael) of Vilas, Joseph Sherwood (Patricia) Mountain City, TN., Johnathan Sherwood (Kelli) of Vilas; Brian Fairchild (Amanda) of Colbert, Ga.; Jason Fairchild (fianc�, Beth Hartzog) of Fleetwood, Brooke Thomas, (Roger) of Winter Garden, Fla. and Paige Hamlette (Allen) of Winter Garden, Fla; seventeen great-grandchildren, Jimmy Moretz (Chloe), Justin, Josie, Julie, and Jack Moretz, Grace Greene, Lindi and Raylin Sherwood, Daniel and Andrew Fairchild, Elianna, Noah, Gavin, and Evie Thomas, and Brooklyn, Nolan and Mason Hamlette; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 56 years, Chester Fraley; sisters, Leola Hollars, Wilma Byrd, Ruth Brown, Johnsie Tugman, Glady Boring; and brothers, Claude and Avery Harmon; and her parents. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday June 16th, at 2 PM, at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Toby Oliver and Rev. Paul Coffey. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1 until 2 o�clock, one hour prior to services, at Austin & Barnes. Graveside services will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens.
