Obituary of David J. Love

Joe David Love, age 69, of Hill Drive, Fleetwood, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 14, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. Born January 26, 1946 in Watauga County, he was a son of Edward Miles and Flora South Love. David loved music so much that he wrote songs, sang, and played the musical instruments that he created. He was a master woodworker, crafting and selling dulcimers, banjos and guitars. He enjoyed carving the wooden bears and toys that he sold in his small shop near his home. Mr. Love is survived by his companion of 17 years, Anna Bell Main; brothers, James Love and wife, Isabelle of Boone and Noah Love and wife, Mary, of Morganton; his extended family, Annette Berry and husband, Steve, Melinda Ward and husband, Sean, and their children, Madyson and Ian Ward; Lisa Nauom, and husband, Nick, and Charles Arnett and wife, Christy, all of Boone; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Edward Miles and Flora South Love; he was preceded in death by one brother, Arlie South; and sisters, Mary Ward, Celie Love, Dovie Hicks and Marie Huffman. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, May 18, 2015, at 2 oclock, at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Noah Love. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1 until 2 oclock, prior to services, at Austin & Barnes. Burial will follow in the Cove Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
