Obituary of Wilma M. Greene

Wilma Miller Greene, age 93, of Fletcher Branch Road, Vilas, passed away Monday morning, May 4, 2015 at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation in Boone. Born February 21, 1922 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of Monroe Cottrell Miller and Estella Mae White Miller. Mrs. Miller was a housewife and homemaker, and attended Willow Valley Baptist Church. Wilma loved her family, especially cooking for family functions, planting and tending her annual flower gardens, and growing some of the loveliest house violets. Mrs. Greene is survived by two sons, Lynn Greene and wife, Kathy, of Mountain City, TN, and Perry Greene of Vilas; daughter, Joyce Eggers of Vilas; granddaughter, Marissa Greene of Deep Gap; four brothers, Jack Miller of Lenoir, Bill Miller and wife, Nell, and Lewis Miller and wife Ester, all of Vilas, and Kermit Miller and wife Willa Dean, of Hudson; and two sisters, Virginia Dare Yates of Boone, and Rena Goodman and husband, Jackie, of Vilas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lemuel Greene; brother, Howard Miller; and sister, Georgia Hayes. Funeral services for will be conducted Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2015, at 2 o�clock, at Willow Valley Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Ray Greene. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 until 2 o�clock. Burial will follow in the Willow Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. At other times, friends may call at the Greene Residence, Fletcher Branch Road in Vilas.
