Mrs. Cora Leigh Oliver, 87, of Creston, the Three Top Community, passed away Thursday evening, March 26, 2015 at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born November 9, 1927 in Watauga County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Clayton and Mary Ella Snyder Trivette. Cora Leigh was a member of Zionville Baptist Church. She was a very fortunate lady
She is survived by one daughter, Nettie Leigh Mahala, one grandson, Robert Mahala, and one sister Pauline Roark and husband Joe all of Creston, two sisters in law, Ann Trivette of Zionville and Janette Trivette of Mountain City, and her former son in law, Shirlie Mahala of Creston, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Oliver, brothers,Glenn Trivette and his wife, Ruth Trivette, George,and Bert Trivette, one sister, Mae Sutherland, and her husband, Buster; and one sister in law, Mary Trivette.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Leigh Oliver will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 oclock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Lane Roark and Rev. Frankie Rash. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 oclock until 3 oclock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
