Dan Graham Miller, 76, of Howards Creek Road, Boone, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at his home. Born May 6, 1938 in Watauga County, he was a son of Joseph Harrison and Ada Winebarger Miller. Mr. Miller served as a Deacon and song leader at Rich Mountain Baptist Church for more than 35 years. As a young man, Dan enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. Being a devoted husband, father and grandfather, it was important to Dan that he provide his families� needs. He successfully owned and various business� in Watauga County for many years and in his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and meticulously handcrafted musical instruments and grandfather clocks. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Betty McNeil Miller; his parents; four sisters, Mary, Goldie, Verlie and Ruby Kathleen; and eight brothers, Hubert Clint, Earl, Dean, Wade, Arlie, Lloyd, Blaine and Charles. Mr. Miller is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Norris and husband, Bobby of Boone; one son Danny Miller and wife Kenda of Boone; four grandchildren; Neko Worley and husband, Chuck; Danielle Bledsoe and husband Joey; Kendra Hayes and husband Chris and Robby Norris and wife Skylar all of Boone; ten great grandchildren; Michael Worley and wife, Jessie, Brad Worley and wife, Nicole, Graham, Abbei, and Kylea Bledsoe, Madason, Makenlea and Maylea Hayes, and Mackenzie, and Kase Norris; three great, great grandchildren, Ava, Brook and Bristol Worley; two brothers, Glenn Miller and wife, Sue, and Leroy Miller, all of Baltimore, Md.; and two sisters-in-law, Myrtle Miller of Baltimore and Edith Miller of Boone. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 28, at 2 PM at Rich Mountain Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Delmar James and Rev. Vernon Eller. Burial with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 130 will follow in the Jim McNeil Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 o�clock at Austin & Barnes. At other times, the family will be at the Miller residence.
