Obituary of Jerry J. Garlock

Mr. Jerry John Garlock, age 76, of Boone, passed away Tuesday morning, February 24, 2015. Born March 13, 1938 in Galveston, Texas, he was a son of the late Ray and Louise McCarty Garlock. He was a devoted husband, father and friend. Jerry was a faithful member of Deerfield United Methodist Church. He served in the US Coast Guard, and was a realtor, contractor and partner in Fun-N-Wheels and Magic Mountain Mini Golf. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, June Garlock, two sons, Mike Garlock and Kim of Boone, and John Garlock and Tammy of Charlotte, six grandchildren, Beth and Grace Garlock, Christie Jones and husband Eddie, Scott Garlock, Ben Pierson, Kelli and Jason Alford, three great grandchildren, Aiden Watson, Colson Jones, and Roman Pierson, two sisters, Pat and Barbara and one brother, Wayne Garlock. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Garlock. Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Garlock will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 oclock at Deerfield United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Evelyn Lemons and Rev. Barry Raker. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Blowing Rock. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 oclock until 2 oclock at Deerfield United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Deerfield United Methodist Church, 1184 Deerfield Road, Boone, NC 28607.
