Obituary of Everett E. Cole

On February 7, 2015, Everett Edward Cole, age 82, of Vilas, left this earth on his final journey to join his heavenly family. Everett passed away unexpectedly at his daughter�s home in Port St. Lucie Florida where he loved spending winter month�s with his devoted wife of 63 years, Jean Brown Cole. Mr. Cole was a 60 year member and former Deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After retiring from the NC DOT, Everett enjoyed visiting and spending quality time with elderly friends and neighbors. He was a 32 Degree Mason and past master of Masonic Snow Lodge #363. A man of family dedication, �Daddy Everett� as known to many, is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters, Jimmie Ann Yates of Port St. Lucie, Fl. And Linda Councill of Vilas; son, Eddie Cole and wife, Tomoko, of Fuquay-Varina; five grandchildren, Chris Greene of Vilas, Amanda Dickerson and husband, Hill, of Wake Forest, Cody Councill of Raleigh, Jonathan Cole of Osaka, Japan, and Justin Cole of Fuquay-Varina; three great-grandchildren, Dylan Greene of Boone, Ava Grace and Hadley Dickerson, both of Wake Forest; brother, Clarence Cole of Boone; and sisters-in-law, Christine Cole of Boone and Joanne Cole of Lewisville, and a number of nieces and nephews. . He was preceded in death by parents, Wiley and Lena Houck Cole; brothers, Clyde and Bill Cole; and sister, Barbara Ann Adams and his son in law Buddy Yates. Please join the family to remember Everett on Sunday, February 15th, 2015 at 2:30 PM, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Michael Gragg. The receiving of family and friends will begin at 1 o�clock. Masonic services by Snow Lodge 363, and military honors by American Legion Post 130 will be provided at the church. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to �Keystone Sunday School Class� at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 306 Oak Grove Rd., Boone, NC 28607.
