Obituary of Cody M. Woodard

Mr. Cody Mikal Woodard, age 26, of Boone, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Born November 13, 1988 in Watauga County, he was a son of Susie Ellison and Mikal Woodard. Cody was a graduate of Watauga High School and a carpenter by trade. He is survived by his mother, Susie Ellison of Fleetwood and his father, Mikal Woodard of Mountain City, one sister, Heather Woodard of Boone, his maternal grandmother, Verlee Canter of Fleetwood, his maternal grandfather, Don Ellison, his paternal grandfather, Charles Woodard of Lenoir, four uncles, Jeff Canter and wife Vicki, Johnny Ellison and wife Betty, Randy Ellison and Jake Woodard, one aunt, Caroline Woodard, a number of cousins including; Chris Ellison, Amanda Ellison, Brittney Barbe, Christy Miller, Ashley Canter, Brandi and Robin Trivette, and special friends, Dennis, Neil and Audrey Hartley, and Andrew Roberts and Steven Severt.. Memorial services for Mr. Cody Mikal Woodard will be conducted Monday evening at 7 oclock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Eric Proffitt. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Make A Wish Foundation, 1131 Harding Place, Charlotte, NC 28204. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 oclock until 7 oclock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
