Obituary of Patsy Mize Cable

Patsy Jean Mize Cable, 86, of Rush Branch Road, Sugar Grove, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 in Lexington. Born November 8, 1927 in Lexington to Howard and Julia Lanning Mize. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Cable was a graduate of Lying In Nursing College of Chicago. She was a registered nurse at both Forsyth and City Hospitals in Winston and Watauga Medical Hospital in Boone. Patsy was a member of the Retired Nursing Association at Forsyth Hospital. Mrs. Cable is survived by her husband of 43 years, Howard Cable; four brothers, Don Mize, Murel Mize & wife, Carolyn, Allan Mize and wife, Jill, and Dennis Craig Mize and wife, Rhonda, all of Lexington; six sisters-in-law, Mildred and Clara Mize, both of Lexington, Nancy Mize of Lynchburg, Va., Linda Mize of Lexington, Betty Jo Cable of Sugar Grove, and Hazel Farthing and husband, Edmond, of Vilas. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Bobby, Eddie, Max, Levens, Vann and Steve Mize. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 28, at 3PM at Antioch Baptist Church in Sugar Grove, officiated by Pastor Daniel Lawrence and Rev. Derek Wilson. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 o�clock, prior to services, at the church. Burial will follow in the Cable-Matheson Family Cemetery.
