Lee and I were judges at Appalachian State's GuitarFest for many years together, where we attended the concerts, lunches, and talked shop. He was always a kind, soft-spoken person passionate about the classical guitar and open-minded towards the various ways of approaching it. His method book still impresses nearly 40 years after it was written. Most sincere condolences to Joann and the family.
Here's a photo of GuitarFest 2014, with myself at the far end on the left and Lee directly across from me:

Lee first taught me the importance of discipline and focus and instilled his love and enthusiasm of the guitar and life in general. We were able to reconnect some 15 years ago and he created a brilliant website for my activities.
Sorry never to hear Lee play the bagpipes— that would have been an experience….
My best wishes to you Joann in your solace and I retain those happy memories of both of your vitality and soul!

Joann, we have so many fond memories of Lee, as we were blessed to have both of you as our parent’s closest friends. They shared many stories of Berlin, Spain & other adventures through the years. I remember us all connecting in Edinburgh, your visits with my parents in PA & all of us in GA.
I’m so glad Lee met another guitar enthusiast in my husband Price & we treasure his book.
I have many memories of all of you & Scottish Country dancing.
Lee had a joy & enthusiasm for life, for learning & for sharing his knowledge.
He was a loving friend & we know he was a loving partner to you for all of these years.
Peace & Love for your journey back beyond the stars, Lee.
Holding you in our hearts, Joann.

Dearest Joann....Lee's laugh is what sticks with me. And his love of dance and all things Celtic. And his tartan slacks! Brad and I were privileged to have him play guitar at our wedding. Such a talented man in many areas! I am sending lots of love and prayers that the happy memories will give you comfort. Love you.....Sue
