Obituary of Robert Patrtick Shook

Robert Patrick Shook, 63, of the Grandfather community, Avery County, NC, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Watauga Medical Center, Boone, NC. He was born March 17, 1960, in Montgomery, Ala., to the late Col. C.M. and Pat Shook of the Grandfather community. He attended Watauga High School in Boone, NC. He was a master carpenter and worked in construction most of his life. He was an individual who appreciated the good times and his many friends. He is survived by a son, Clayton Shook of Asheville, NC; a daughter, Magdalene Wallis, husband John and their children, Olivia and Pierce, all of Greenville, SC; special friend and former wife, Bess Bennett of Greenwood, SC; a sister, Sandra Shook of the Grandfather community; a niece and nephew, Spirit Cannon of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Alexi Cannon of Pompano Beach, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Alex Cannon of Pompano Beach, Fla.: and many loving cousins, including Colleen Bare of the Grandfather comnunity. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Cannon of Pompano Beach, Fla.
