Mr. Floyd Lee Presnell, 88, of Granite Falls, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Floyd was born in Ashe County to the latest Ernest and Pearl Presnell on February 15, 1935. Floyd is preceded in death by his latest wife Barbara Church Presnell. His three sons Bobby Presnell, Billy Presnell, and infant son Scottie. One daughter Sandra Moretz, and son in law Charles Moretz. Floyd is survived by his wife Louise of 31 years who he loved dearly and was his best friend. Floyd is also survived by one daughter Kathy Pennell and husband Rick of Fleetwood. Sons-Chris Presnell of Delta, Ohio, David Presnell of Boone, and Steve Presnell of Boone. He is also survived by two step-daughters Crystal Hogan and husband James of Fleetwood, and Sharon Baird of Boone. Floyd was blessed with many grandchildren: Brandon Bare and wife Brittany,Stephen Presnell, Dylan Wagoner, Megan Hudson and husband Brandon, Samantha Banks and husband Marc, Scott Moretz and wife Sydney, Tarryn Presnell, Mason Presnell, Bailey Presnell, Sierra Digger, Terra Yates, Gracie Presnell, Kaylie Wilson, Jamie Queen and husband Zack, Carrie Hodges and husband Joseph, Joshua Baird, and Saraya Baird. Great-grandchildren Abigail Hudson, Mikey Hudson, Vera Hart, Lucian Bare, Juliet Banks, Harper Presnell, Bella Broadbent, Olivia Broadbent, Colton Queen, Aubrea Hodges, Payton Hodges, Nevaeh Baird, Samuel Gragg, Tessa Gragg, Oakland Baird, and Ellie Baird. He is also survived by one brother Junior Presnell and wife Margaret of Boone and one sister Carolyn Hardy and husband Arville of Purlear, and the late Marybell Tunnell and Susy Harmon of Boone, and numerous nieces and nephews. Floyd served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War in which he was very proud. Floyd was of Baptist faith and loved listening to gospel music. He was an avid Hunter and fisherman, and spent many hours watching his favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves, on television. One of his fondest memories was meeting Dale Murphy and getting his autograph. Floyd was loved by his entire family and many friends. He will be truly missed. A private ceremony will be held at this time just for the family to honor Floyd. The family respectfully requests no food or flowers.
