Claud with no e, the first time I saw you you were offering up softball game at IBM and my thought was he looks too sophisticated to be an umpire. I appreciate your tutelage of me introducing me to and learning to love classical music.. we had a lot of fun with that little piece of Hardware that I sent you down to Delaware with so you could put it in the latrine when you're half ass in laws came to visit. Annie says she often thanks of the wonderful time that you two had being the 'B' Team over in Ireland. So when you get up there use all your sophistication to ensure you're reserving enough seats for all us McKenzie's and of course your family will sit at your right hand side. You I've always been a great friend and and know the Colchester McKenzie's love you

Uncle Claud was a very gentle soul who alway smelled of pipe tobacco (on e of my favorite smells) and loved listening to classical music on the record player. He was tickled that I married an Ohio man who loved Detroit sports. I always enjoyed sitting and chatting with him. You are very loved and will be missed Uncle Claud. But how blessed are we who now have an amazing angel looking down upon us!

I knew Uncle Claud my whole life where we interacted mostly during family occasions and I can tell you I don't recall a single moment where he was without that great smile of his. He was always an attentive and caring listener and genuinely cared about what you had to say, which is rare. He will be missed by many.

Q: What will you never forget about Claud?
A: His pipe! Has a boy, a teenager and a young man, it seemed as every time I would run into Uncle Claude he would be smoking his pipe.
On one Christmas Eve night shortly after I got out of the US Navy. We went to Elmwood Avenue to celebrate Christmas with Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Ray on Elmwood Avenue when Uncle Claude met my family for the first time.
I was standing with with my son Ryan when Uncle Claude walked over and looked down and said "and who might this be James" I proudly introduced my son Ryan to his great Uncle Claude. Uncle Claude looked at Ryan and asked " and how do you do Ryan? Ryan replied good thank you and hey did you know my dad smoked a pipe too?
I can still see the smile on Uncle Claud's face at that moment!
