Johnny, prayers with you and your family. Your dad was a true gentleman, and I always enjoyed talking to him when I stopped by the shop when we were younger. It's tough to lose your dad, but rely on your faith, and those who love you to get through this difficult time.

Johnny and family, Floyd was truly a great and humble man. Thinking about growing up with Johnny as a close friend from childhood causes so many memories to flood my mind. I remember the many times seeing Floyd with his pipe in hand thinking about something on his mind. He was an intelligent and contemplative man. Oh the creative ideas that must have been going on in his mind!
He was quick to give a hand to anyone who need help or advice especially pertaining to mechanical things. I have witnessed and experienced this many times as men would stop by the shop to seek his wisdom in a project. Many times he gave help to people who had broken down beside the road needed a pull out of the ditch in winter.
He had a great sense of humor and wry smile when he had pulled off a practical joke or hit the punch line.
Bobby, Marie, and Sue must have had a lot of fun growing up with him :).
I can remember walking off a fence line for a tobacco field and he turned around and re-walked it because he said my steps were too long due to my height.
I don’t remember ever really seeing him upset. Even when we made mistakes at the shop working for him. He was very patient and helpful to get you back on track.
I have many more memories but will conclude with this:
Floyd will live on with us in the physical and emotional attributes as I see many of them in Johnny and his grandchildren. Love for his family and fellow man, wisdom, patience, and kindness will all continue because Floyd had a great way of being exemplary and passing these attributes on to his future generations.
God bless you and the family through this time and remember the Son is still shining.

It was always a pleasure to stop at the shop and talk to Floyd and Johnny when I'd pick up or drop off things for the factory I used work for. He was highly skilled and a genuinely good person. He will be missed.
