Aunt Judy holds a special place in my childhood memories. She helped form the foundation of a god-honoring, loving family who celebrated together on holidays and special milestones. I’m grateful for that foundation of love, laughter and traditions. I’m one of the many people who will always treasure her playing the accordion during our annual Christmas Eve talent show. Requests for “Glow Worm” would ring out and she would always comply. I also remember bragging to any friend who visited Chicago that my aunt worked in the famous Sears Tower. I know you will be missed greatly but I also know your family is grateful for your example in life.

Grandma Judy was many things. She was a mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and so many other pieces of a vast family tree. She was also a lover, carer, bringer of joy, musician, story teller, champion of kindness, comforter, and supporter. She celebrated the gift of life in such a glorious way that the joy that exuded from her very pores fell upon everyone she encountered. We were blessed to have Judy in life and rejoice that she is being welcomed lovingly by the family and friends that have gone before her. I love and miss you, Grandma.

I loved going to Aunt Judy’s house on Christmas Day as a young child. She always had mini cherry cheesecakes that were so good! I love cherry cheesecake to this day. Like everyone else, I also loved watching her play the accordion!

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Judith?
A: I knew Judy for just a very short time. But I did discover that she did possess some very profound truths. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the most honest way. Her faith in him was like that of a child. And so I know that now she resides with all the saints. And Judy loved her children beyond belief. Never shying from sharing this with me, she celebrated in their happiness and cried secretly in their pain, genuinely. While allowing them to make their own strides in life she prayed without ceasing that peace would follow them wherever they went. To say in the time that I knew her that Judy was a virtuous woman would truly be an understatement. I am saddened that I did not have the opportunity to know her even better. This universe was ever so diminished by her passing. I will miss you Judy.

My dear Aunt Judy - I have many memories of our visits to Chicago - seeing everyone at Aunt Ruth and Uncle Gunnar’s home and at my Grandma Finstrom’s (5451) around the big dining table - wonderful meals and lots of laughter!! Sending much love.

Judy has seemingly forever been a part of my life, even before Carl and I married over 63 years ago. I first met her and was introduced to my new family-to-be at Aunt Ruth and Uncle Gunnar’s house at Christmas. They were very special occasions. Judy was such an important family member and friend to us throughout the years. She was so kind, loving and caring and will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to family and friends as we mourn her.
Sharing here pictures of visits with Judy and other family members at two of our favorite places, Russell’s and Villa Sweden.

Mom, You were the best mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandma, and friend anyone could ever ask for. You loved and genuinely cared for the people in your life. You always put others first, often sacrificing your own preferences, just to make others happy and comfortable. You were the Christ-like example of love we are called to be, but where we have failed, you did not. I have a life time of memories of all the wonderful talks and times we spent together. Though my heart breaks at the loss of your earthly presence, I rejoice in knowing we will be together again in heaven. Praise the Lord for His Saving Grace that makes this possible. I love you forever Mom.

I miss grandma Judy so much already. I have a lot of memories with her but my favorites are when we would watch tv in her room and just sit there and talk until we both fell asleep. Grandma Judy was a very caring and loving person and helped anyone that needed it no matter what. If I could have 1,000 grandmas they would be just like her. I love her so much and if anyone needs to talk I’m here!

There are so many things I could share about you, from all the times you sat with me as I cried to us just sitting there and laughing. One of my absolute favorite things was hearing you laugh through the house on Sunday nights to Americas Funniest Home Videos. Or the time I heard you trying to ask siri where the nearest Golden Corral was, I honestly didn't think you even knew what siri was. Thank you for being one of my best friends. Life will never be the same without you. I love you grandma.
