Oh, Joan,
My heart is so full of grief at the news of Don's passing. Every day I look at the Afghan prayer rug you and Don gave me, and now, I kneel on it in sorrow and in gratitude that I got the privilege of knowing and loving the two of you, your silly goats and dogs, and enjoying the hospitality of your beautiful farm. Don remains in my heart as a spiritual seeker whose keen intellect and probing pilgrim soul invited me and so many others to an adventurous and challenging path. His complexity never allowed for facile answers and his humor kept me wondering and wandering (in a good way.) I am holding you, your boys, and all who love Don in my heart in these days. Diane and I welcome you to visit us in Colorado if you need a place to get away for a while. Our love and gratitude are with you. Shelly
