Obituary of Blair Hathaway

Julia Blair Hathaway, age 71, passed away on October 24, 2022 in Boone. She was born on July 23, 1951 to Julian Wallace Blair and Helen Bennet Pickrel in Danville, Virginia. She loved spending her time taking walks around Beech Mountain where she lived, Julia would often stop to admire the wildlife and beauty of the outdoors. When she wasn't spending her time in nature, you could find Julia playing the piano which was also a beloved pastime. She earned her bachelor's degree in music from Hollins University in 1973. Julia was preceded in death by her father Julian Wallace Blair and Mother Helen Bennet Pickrel. She leaves behind to cherish her memory two children, Nicholas Alexander Hathaway of Beech Mountain, Helen Christina Hathaway and 2 grandchildren, sister, Nancy Destefano of South Carolina and brother, Wally Blair of Virginia.
