I will miss all our trips we made together. The three of us always had a great time full of laughter and lots of food. We did best when the three of us were together. No matter where we were we had a good time. We always made sure we were taking care of each other. I will miss you greatly sissy. Thanks for being a wonderful sister,

Aunt Cathy met me at New Hanover Regional when I had to be med-flighted down there to have Emma and Shelby. Knowing she was there to help watch over me and our girls when they were born and in NICU for an extended time was such a comfort for a scared first time mama. She knew just what to say to calm my fears- and she had an uncanny way of making us laugh. Through the years, I learned, laughter was her special gift. Prayers for comfort for Donnie, Kim, the grandkids, Chris and Vicky.

I always enjoyed getting to stay with her and fish at the oak island pier. Her laugh was always contagious and would cause everyone around to start laughing! She was a special person and she made people better just by knowing her.

I had the pleasure of spending some Christmas’s with Cathy. She always greeted me with a hug and a kiss . She was such a sweet sweet calm person and a pleasure to be around. I would always do a gift bag for her with multiple small gifts in it .She would take each one out and smile with such pleasure , but her
Most favorite thing was the Piroette cookies .. she loved them . My father who wasn’t big on compliments always said what a nice person she was.
I know she went to Heaven by short cut and all her loved ones were waiting there with open arms
She raised a wonderful daughter as Kim is married to my brother.. God bless her I know she is so happy and at peace now

I will always remember Aunt Cathy's contagious laugh and bright smile. She loved to talk and laugh with her family and I'm thankful that I got to be a part of that. I will never go to Oak Island without thinking of her and her love for fishing.

I remember well the time we decided to plant a huge vegetable garden in the back part of our small pasture. So we bought all sorts of seeds and plants and fertilizer and “tools” and set out to the greatest farmers ever and preparing to feed our children healthy vegetables!! So spring changed to summer and our beautiful garden started to grow. ( remember we had no real idea how to grow vegetables). But we were quite proud of our efforts. And then—- the horses decided to eat all of our hard work!! We were dismayed and not at all amused. But we did decide we were not meant to be farmers and never tried again!

Dear Mom,
It has been hard not having you here with us. I miss you more with every passing day. I hear it is supposed to get easier (definitely not better), but right now I am not sure how. I know you would be very sad to see your family hurting and wouldn’t want us to be, but I think you also know our heartbreak is just a testament to the depth our love is for you and the mark you left on our hearts. Anyone who knew you knew what a beautiful, gentle, incredible and genuine person you were. They knew how strong and independent you were. They knew how compassionate and empathetic you were. You always loved unconditionally and with all your heart. You always went out of your way to be there for those you loved. Now that is not to say you did not have your stubborn ways too, but hey, don’t we all. And your humor and your laugh! Oh how your laugh was so infectious! Mom it is because of you I am the woman and mother I am today. I strive to live by your example. You gave Donnie and me the best childhood. You gave Nicky, Gabbie, and Xander so many amazing memories with their Grammy. You always said how blessed you were to have us, but we were even more blessed to have you.
Ever since you were diagnosed with Alzheimer's I feel like we have been saying a long goodbye, but I still was not prepared for when you actually had to go. I know you are with Grandmom, Granddad, and Aunt Mare now, and I know you are free from pain, truly happy, and fully healed. Even though my heart hurts, my heart is also singing with happiness that you are surrounded by light and love. I love you so much mom, and I miss you dearly. One day we will be together again, but until then, I will live and love as you taught me to do. I will cherish every moment we had together and you are always with me. I will think of you every day.
Your loving daughter
Kim
