Nan was one of the kindest, most patient people I ever met. She always had a way of making you feel better and every conversation had a smile. Blessed to have met her while working at the Foley Center. Prayers to each of you ~ Tammy Nelson

It’s hard to put into words the impact Ms. Nan has made on the lives so many, especially the children of Oak Grove to whom she taught Bible Drill. In times of sadness, fear, or joy I can still recite so many of the Bible verses that she helped me to learn (and I still remember the homemade goodie bags as well!). What a blessing she was. Rest in heavenly peace, Ms. Nan.

What an absolute honor it has been for me to know Mrs Nan. I met her at foley (before Covid) and was honored to be her hairdresser for several years. She was such a precious woman and the love of God shone in her each time I saw here.

Ms Nan was passionate about making the word of God the foundation for the lives of our children at Oak Grove Baptist Church. She lead our children in Bible Drill along with many of their friends. We enjoyed traveling with her as they competed in different regional competitions. Her treat bags were a much anticipated reward each Sunday and many days in between. I always enjoyed our conversations about the history of western Watauga County.
We had many pleasant visits at the Foley Center. Sweet and kind, thoughtful and ready with good conversation all the way to our last visit. I will Miss you Ms Nan, but I will always remember you! My condolences to your family.

Nannie Helen lured me into volunteering at Cove Creek Farm Heritage Days. She was always a pleasure to see, very driven about history and the old school building. I was sorry when the event stopped because I didn't see Nannie Hellen each year after that. She was full of love and kindness. My sympathies to her family and loved ones.
