I was Allen's dispatcher at Gulfport PD. We worked night shift and whenever I had to call Kathy for Allen, he made me promise that the first words out of my mouth when Kathy answered the phone, would be, "Allen's okay, he's fine". Allen was a great husband, father, friend and Police Officer. I consider the time we worked together, a privilege and and an honor.

Al was one of my most favorite people during my time at Samaritan’s Purse. His jokes, pranks, and his heart of gold will be sorely missed. At the height of the pandemic, he brought me a ziploc baggie of hand sanitizers and told me, “Shhh! People can’t know I’m nice!!!”
Al would always light up like a lightbulb whenever I asked about his family—especially his dogs! He loved his wife so dearly and his voice was so gentle when speaking about her.
He often joked with me that he was like Samaritan’s Purse’s troll under the bridge, but I know for a fact that Al loved and served people with love behind every intention!
Al, I will miss you and our shenanigans!

I will never forget the first time I met Al, we formed a friendship that although not a close one we worked together, were always available to talk and especially listen. He was a true asset to the Law Enforcement community and will be missed by all that knew him. May his memory be a condolence to each member of his family, his extended Law Enforcement family and his friends. Rest in Peace Brother.

I will always cherish the memories of all of our talks over so many cups of coffee. You were a friend to many, and I am humbled to have had a special bond with you. I will always picture you in your toboggan with your one of a kind sense of humor that always made me smile. You gave so much of yourself to this community and now you deserve to rest. God bless Kathy and all of your kids. Keep them straight up there Al until we meet again. Shari (retired WCSO)

Dear family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I treasure the memories of the days when our children were young and we would eat together and visit at the department’s Christmas gatherings. Pat Baker treasured Al and respected him so much. My heart goes out to you. Mary and Kathleen Greene-Baker
