Dr. Eris Arrowood Dedmond, age 83, of Howard Street, Boone, passed away Tuesday morning, July 8, 2014 at Watauga Medical Center. Born in Rutherford County March 15, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Muriel Robbins Arrowood. Dr. Dedmond received her undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University. She obtained her Masters Degree and PhD from Florida State University. Dr. Dedmond taught in the education department Appalachian State University for a number of years.
She is survived by one son, Al Wilson and wife Becky of Monroe, two grandsons, Brian Wilson and wife Tamara of Cary, and Jonathan Wilson of Los Angeles, two great grandchildren, Alex and Aaron Wilson of Cary and one brother Fred M. Arrowood of Forest City. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Francis B. Dedmond.
Memorial services for Dr. Eris Arrowood Dedmond will be conducted Saturday morning, July 12, 2014 at 11 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel.
